Percutaneous Balloon Kyphoplasty

Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive treatment option for patients with acute or chronic vertebral compression fractures. These can be performed by interventional pain physicians, spine surgeons, and interventional radiologists, among others. Fixing a vertebral compression fracture may reduce pain, improve stability, and improve pulmonary function.

At the Carolinas Pain Institute we perform this procedure in the outpatient setting.
