Carolinas Pain Institute Division of Education

For over 15 years, the Carolinas Pain Institute has been a leader in clinical pain research and education in chronic pain management.

Our core educational pathway is a subspecialty fellowship training program in chronic and interventional pain.

The Wake Forest University/Carolinas Pain Institute Fellowship is a 12 month Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited training program that takes place at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, the Carolinas Pain Institute, and Novant Health Medical Center. The program admits and trains six fellows in multidisciplinary and interventional pain management.

Dr. Ajam and the Carolinas Pain Institute also provide elective and subspecialty rotation experiences for anesthesiology residents, internal medicine residents, medical students, rheumatology fellows and palliative care fellows.
